THE RED POINSETTIA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, INC.

 
 
 

A 501 (c) (3) Tax Exempt entity, The Red Poinsettia Charitable Foundation, Inc. was formed on August 18, 2015, for the charitable and humanitarian purpose of aiding persons living in the USA and anywhere in the world, who are in need of food, clothing, shelter, footwear, school materials and supplies, portable toilets, medicines and medical/surgical services.

 

The participants in all of the foundation’s endeavors are its officers and members; volunteers from the United States, and from the Philippines; beneficiaries living in the USA and elsewhere; donors: corporations, single proprietors, individuals who are willing to help make The Red Poinsettia Charitable Foundation, Inc.’s projects possible.

 

The Red Poinsettia Charitable Foundation, Inc. is also a focal point of fundraising to support its mother organization, the Friends Indeed USA, Inc.’s yearly Humanitarian, Medical and Surgical mission. The foundation also supports its sister organizations such as Philippine Hearts and Hopes society, Inc. and other partners.

 

The Poinsettia Grand Ball was created in 2008, but was revised in 2015 as Red Carpet Poinsettia Grand Ball 2015, just in time when the foundation was founded. The said ball is the foundation’s first project as a 501 (c) (3) entity, with the guidance of Friends Indeed USA, Inc., Philippine Hearts and Hopes Society, Inc., and other partners.

 

There were more that 500 people attended all in red gowns and tie.  The Red Poinsettia Charitable Foundation, Inc. is an independent organization controlled by its own officers and members. Its event, Red Carpet Poinsettia Grand Ball, is celebrated every 1st Sunday of December.

RAYMOND L. SMITH, PRESIDENT

At 18 years old, Raymond L. Smith joined the United States Navy, and served from October 1955 to October 1961. Upon his honorable discharge from the service, he embarked in  numerous works for the companies like Pan-Am Airways & Coinmach.  He was an installation manager at Coinmach, and he retired from the company in 2010 after 25 years of service. Then, he signed up for a volunteer work at the Queens Zoo as a wildlife tour guide, teaching children about animals and their habitats.

 

He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and had served as 2nd Vice Commander for two years. Mr. Smith is presently the CEO of Grand Events & Beyond, LLC., an event planner entity that manages events for the sole-purpose of raising funds for charity. Mr. Smith is also a lifetime member of the Knights of Rizal, Long Island Chapter, and he was elevated to a Third Degree Knight Commander. Mr. Smith received numerous awards in 2015, including one as  a philanthropist.

 

Raymond L. Smith is a charter president of the Red Poinsettia Charitable Foundation, Inc. He is married to a very prominent community leader, Nena Lozada Smith.
